Apply and get approved

Every wallet that trades on Hourglass is approved for the roles it uses. Approval is recorded on chain, and the programs check it on every order, claim transfer, delivery step and payout destination.

Apply

  1. Connect and sign in with the wallet you will trade from.
  2. Open Apply in the app.
  3. Choose your roles: Buyer, Trader, Seller, Lender, Inspector. Pick every role you need; you can apply again later for more.
  4. Enter your company or legal name and a contact email. Sellers also choose the region of their nodes, NA or EU.
  5. Choose Apply.

The application is tied to the signed-in wallet. Its status shows on the Apply screen: In review, then Approved with your roles.

Review

Hourglass checks identity for every participant and, for sellers, the business. Sanctions screening applies to everyone. The review team may email you for documents. When it approves the wallet:

  • your wallet's eligibility is written on chain with its roles;
  • your claim accounts on the listed series are opened and unfrozen, so claims can reach you;
  • the app's screens for your roles unlock (Seller, Lender, Inspector).

The Apply screen updates on its own when the wallet is approved; nothing else is needed from you meanwhile.

What each role needs

Role Checks Also needs
Buyer identity, sanctions USDC to fund bids
Trader identity, sanctions USDC to buy claims
Seller business, sanctions accredited nodes and USDC collateral (Sellers)
Lender identity, sanctions USDC to advance
Inspector identity, sanctions, an inspection contract with Hourglass a USDC bond (Inspectors)

If approval changes

An approval can be updated or revoked by Hourglass. Revoking stops new orders, transfers and delivery steps for the wallet, but never traps money owed to it: refunds, settlement payouts and collectable cash always reach the wallet.
